Dr. Shraddha Patel Kolappa

Shraddha Patel Kolappa, D.D.S, known as Dr. Patel, is a board certified pediatric dentist that consistently provides compassionate and comprehensive dental care to her patients. Born in Chicago and raised in North Carolina, Dr. Patel considers this state her forever home. From an early age she knew she wanted to work with children, and pediatric dentistry became a perfect fit for her.
Dr. Patel attended the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, graduating with a bachelor’s in biology with honors and a minor in chemistry. She then continued her education at the UNC School of Dentistry, receiving her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree.
Following dental school, she completed her pediatric dental residency at Miami Children’s Hospital. This two-year hospital residency provided Dr. Patel with extensive knowledge and training in traditional behavior management, hospital dentistry, pediatric dental trauma, and caring for special-needs patients.
Dr. Patel is a diplomat of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She is an active member of the American Dental Association, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, North Carolina Dental Society, and the North Carolina Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Patel strives to create a positive and comfortable experience for her patients. She looks forward to building relationships with her patients and their families with the goal to provide excellent dental care.
Outside of work Dr. Patel enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She is married to Dr. Kamal Kolappa, a cardiologist in the triangle area, and is the mother of two young kids. She enjoys traveling, sampling local restaurants, and exercising.
Meet
Dr. Ira Mulo

Ira Mulo, DDS, MS is a pediatric dentist with extensive training in prevention and individualized comprehensive dental care for children and adolescents.
Dr. Mulo was born in Albania where she grew up watching her father, also a dentist, provide excellent care to his patients in his general practice. She moved to Michigan with her family when she was in high school.
Dr. Mulo completed her undergraduate studies at Wayne State University in Detroit where she majored in Biological Sciences with University Honors and minored in Spanish.
Given her early interest in and fascination with the art and science of dentistry, Dr. Mulo continued her studies at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry and she graduated with honors as a Doctor of Dental Surgery. She then successfully completed a General Practice Residency at the Ann Arbor VA Medical Center where she gained invaluable experience working with medically complex patients.
Having always enjoyed working with children and their families, Dr. Mulo practiced in pediatric practices in Texas for eight years providing comprehensive dental care including dental treatment under conscious sedation.
Dr. Mulo went on to complete her pediatric dental residency and training at the prestigious Ohio State University/Nationwide Children’s Hospital. This was an intensive two-year program where she had the opportunity to work with world-renowned specialists and treat clinically complex patients. There she expanded her skills in behavior management, traumatic dental injuries, diagnostic and restorative dentistry while working both in a clinic setting and in the operating room under general anesthesia.
Outside of work, Dr. Mulo enjoys traveling, music, cooking and hosting friends and family. She is fascinated by different languages and cultures and wants to learn as much as possible about the diverse and beautiful world we live in.
Dr. Mulo’s goals are to have open and transparent communication with the families at Clayton Pediatric Dentistry and to provide the most positive dental experience possible for our patients. She looks forward to seeing your smiles in our practice soon!
